Iraqi fighter jets have strongly bombed the ISIS position in Anbar province, West of Iraq, killing an ISIS Mufti along dozens of militants.
Iraqi military officials confirmed on Saturday that following an intelligence gathering operation in the area, Iraqi warplanes carried out several airstrikes on ISIS positions in Mohammadiyah district of Anbar province.
The officials stated that at least 29 ISIS insurgents have been killed during the airstrike.
Ahmed Jasim Hamadi Bailawi, an ISIS mufti, is believed to be among the dead terrorists.
Ramadi, the capital city of Anbar province, was liberated from ISIS earlier in December, 2015. The city, however, remains under threat of terrorists as they are still present in the surrounding areas.
Earlier on Friday January 15th, Head of Anbar Provincial Council, Sabah Karhout, announced that the Iraqi forces have pushed deeper into the province and they recently freed Sofiyah district from extremists.
